September 15, 2015 at 10:40 PM

Eric Draitser of StopImperialism.org interviews Dady Chery, Co-Editor-in-Chief of News Junkie Post and author of the new book We Have Dared to Be Free: Haiti’s Struggle Against Occupation.  In this wide-ranging interview, Eric and Dady discuss the historical and political importance of Haiti, and why it has for more than two centuries been such a prize for the imperial powers.  Dady explains some of the more recent developments in the country, including the removal of Aristide, the imposition of the UN Mission to Haiti (MINUSTAH), and the transformation of Haiti from independent island nation to dependent colony and victim of brutal disaster capitalism.  Eric and Dady also examine the role of Bill Clinton and finance capital, the puppet government of Martelly, the cholera outbreak, and much much more.  Dady Chery shares her wealth of knowledge of these and other issues in this must listen interview.
